  Handy board parts

I am searching for HB parts such as the 32K static CMOS ram p/n 62256-100LP, voltage monitor, p/n DS1233-10, IR demodulator p/n IS1U60, motor driver p/n L293, RS232 converter p/n MAX232CPE, or any acceptable substitutes. Would appreciate anyone (...) (28 years ago, 17-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  steppers - HB

Wondering if anyone knows of a good way to interface a couple of steppers to the HB AND if there are any ic routines written to control steppers. Ideas, comments, suggestions, questions welcome. Bruce (28 years ago, 16-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Sonar and encoder conflict.

I am attempting to run the following routine on my Handyboard int check() { int inches; ping(0); msleep(35L); inches=sonar_time/150; printf("%d \n",inches); return inches; } The program runs great and returns the proper value (Thanks to the software (...)   Polaroid Sensors

Hey Everybody, Quick question for you. Just bought two Polaroid ultrasonic ranging modules, and I would like to know if I must use the Propulse batteries and holder that the manual suggests. If not, does anyone have any suggestions for a substitute (...) (28 years ago, 13-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Handy Board supplier ?

I am new on this list and I wander if anybody can help me with information about a supplier of 'Handy Board' with a reasonable price; the ~$280 it's excessively high for me. Thanks Gyuri (28 years ago, 13-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Replacing Motor Driver 754410's

(...) I concur here, I have a 6inch X 6inch piece of aluminium for 2 of them, and this seems to dissapate all the heat I am generating.   12V batteries

I need a source for a good 12V battery. I'm thinking gel cell to keep the weight and size to a minimum. I found a 12V lead acid at Radio Shack, which is a good size but it's too heavy. My current needs should be modest - a couple of stepper motors (...) (28 years ago, 13-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Replacing Motor Driver 754410's

Hello! I'm looking for feedback on my proposed modification of the HB. I need to drive a 2amp motor with 24 volts. I don't really trust the 754410's to handle that much power (not to mention the handyboard traces). What I'd like to do is replace (...) (28 years ago, 13-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Replacing Motor Driver 754410's

(...) Scott The 18200's are a pretty staight forward upgrade. I'm currently using two of them to run a couple power widow motors from a 12V gel cell. They work great. They get hot pretty quick, so a heat sink is a definite must. Scan through the (...) (28 years ago, 13-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: laser diodes II

Any laser diode will work for sensing objects. The trick is that they are _so_ bright that you can't just look for the reflection (unless your are sensing objects at a few hundred feet) There was a Circuit Cellar contest entry which used a laser (...)   A Rotating (Sweeping?) Polaroid "Dish"? Can it work?

Rather than fix one of our Polaroids, we want to put one on a rotating platform in front of the vehicle so instead of turning the vehicle to search for targets, we can stop, sweep the sonar back and forth, find a target, and turn towards it.
