I was taking a look at the schematics for the HB motor output circuit in
order to see how could I fit it to work with the h-bridge in the RC Fast
Traxx I have.

Thanks to people in this mailing list, I know that in I have 4 signals in
the Fast Traxx h-bridge that control the direction of the two motors. In
order to make one of the motors in a certain direction I have to set one of
such signals to 0 (they all have pull-up resistors).

My problem is that I want to control these motors using the same signals
that control the motor circuit in the HB. My approach (unless any of you
can suggest something better) is to take out the motor driver IC in the HB
(L293D) and take the PWM signals that the HB produces.

I need to know a few things :

- I understand pins 1,2,7 and 9,10,15 in the L293D control the H-Bridge,
but what's the function of each one ?? ( I hope this information will help
me understand what are the PWM signals the HB generates)

- Probably the HB generates a PWM signal and a direction_of_rotation signal
for each motor, in that case it might be better for me to take out the
74HC04D from the HB and modify the motor routines to generate two
distinctive PWM signals (one for each direction) for each motor and then
use 4 opto-couplers to drive the h-bridge in the Fast Traxx. Any
suggestions on which opto coupler IC to use ( remember I need 4) ?

- What is the function of the 74HC374DW in the HB motor output circuit ? Is
it just a buffer ??

- Where is the code for the IC motor routines ??

Thanks for your help ..
Oriol
