  Re: Set 8482

(...) Thanks The robotics Cybermaster group looks dead - nothing for 2 years. I do not have the remote control (RF tower), as I found in the papers and invetory. I dont have time, but I am thinking of taking the elektronics out and building my own. (...) (16 years ago, 27-Jun-10, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster on WinXP

(...) If you get error 8065006D at start-up, that means you have an incompatible QuickTime environment. Cybermaster will only run with Quicktime 6.4 or lower. It;'s NOT compatible with version 7 onwards. Lego Technical Support have confirmed this to (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster Win XP Fix

As well as using Windows95 Compatibility Mode, you also have to ensure you're running QuickTime 6.4 or lower (or you get startup error 8065006D). Cybermaster is not compatible with the latest (version 7 and up as at May 2008) versions of Quicktime, (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Re: Cybermaster on WinXP

(...) I found changing the Registry settings unnecessary, but you DO need to run it in Windows95 Compatibility mode, as described elsewhere on this newsgroup. I have also found, and Lego Tech Support have confirmed, that Cybermaster will only run (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jun-08, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

(...) Oops, I didn't realize that. In that case it might be perfectly allright with me, because I will need to set the light sensor against a dedicated light source anyway. Sensitivity would be just sufficient in that case, I guess. Thanks Jürgen, (...) (19 years ago, 1-Dec-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

Hi Jerry, (...) It's not that useless, the light sensor also works passively, it's just even less sensitive than in active mode. Jürgen (19 years ago, 29-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

(...) Good I found this post today - I was just about to fool around w/ one of my spare cybermasters and hook up the RIS light sensors to it. So that's obviously a useless attempt, as the active sensors won't do a thing. Which in turn means that in (...) (19 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

Hi John, (...) maybe that curve corresponds to a 10k Pullup-Resistor to 5V? (...) Yes, on the RCX it is 0 to 5V with 10 bit resolution. I'd suppose the Cybermaster is compatible with that, except that it cannot provide power to active sensors. (...) (20 years ago, 27-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

Re: Custom sensors on the cybermaster

(...) Thanks to Michael Barrett Andersen who knew that the opcode was 0x11 I now have control over the tacho counters as well: 0xFE 0x00 0x00 0xFF 0x11 0xEE 0x01 0xFE 0x12 0xED | Header | opcode | motorID | Checksum | MotorID is: 0x01 0xFE or 0x02 (...)   Custom sensors on the cybermaster

I've managed to get communication up and running from labview to the cybermaster, and noticed as I was testing different resistors as sensors that the values returned is following a curve. This suggests to me that the inputs on the cybermaster are (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  constructopedia for cybermaster

Re: UK version of software CD for Cybermaster

(...) Hmm, that's an old address. I have updated the one in my Lugnet profile but it doesn't seem to have 'taken effect'. I'll email you later, sorry. I've had a quick look which hasn't turned it up, I'll have to go into the deep storage so it may (...) (20 years ago, 12-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Cybermaster Win XP Fix

Solutions given in previous posts addressed the problems of using Cybermaster software with Win XP only partially. The tour runs but you cannot do anything beyond that. I found the real answer to the Win XP problem in the post by Karin, here: (URL) (...) (21 years ago, 4-Aug-05, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)

  Programming language survey results

Hi all, Thank you if you completed the survey about your chosen development environment. Early results are as follows: 48% of respondents use NQC as their main language.   Battle of the programming languages

Hi, I am very interested (for a variety of reasons) in which programming language people are using to build robots. I wonder if you would fill in a questionnaire about it at: (URL) all about how useful, easy and enjoyable your chosen language is. If (...)   Re: English CD?

(...) Hi Larry, THanks again for the help. Since the Cybermaster product was never available in the US, I assumed that calling the US LEGO consumer affairs would be a dead end. I'll give it a try, maybe it will work. Kevin (22 years ago, 7-Oct-04, to lugnet.robotics.cybermaster)
