    O'Reilly plays coy! —Russell Nelson
ARRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! I just got my review copy of the O'Reilly Lego Mindstorms book, and there's no cover!!! We *still* don't know what animal is being on the cover. Both O'Reilly and Jonathan are being coy! No fair! (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: O'Reilly plays coy! —Richard Memory
Can somebody such as myself get my hands on a review copy?? You can slap me back into reality if this is already common knowledge, but ..... I just went to the O'Reilly web page and looked up the Lego Mindstorms book and it shows a "robotic rabbit" (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

output A in reverse weak and NQC question —Tim Gion
I just picked up Mindstorms on Thursday. Today, I noticed that output A in reverse is significantly weaker running a motor than it is running the motor forward. I've tried this with more than one motor and also compared it to that of output C. Is (...) (25 years ago, 1-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

That should at least tell me where the communication is (...) (25 years ago, 1-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: output A in reverse weak and NQC question —Tim Gion
I did some more experimenting today and it turns out that output A is weak in reverse, normal in forward and output B behaves in the opposite manner. It looks like output C is the only one that performs fine in both directions. Has any one else run (...) (25 years ago, 1-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: output A in reverse weak and NQC question —Soh Chio Siong
It may not even be an RCX problem. I've found that all my Lego motors run better in one direction than the other. Has got to do with the magnetisation of the pole pieces, I believe. Try checking out by connecting the motors directly to the Lego 9V (...) (25 years ago, 2-Aug-99, to lugnet.robotics)

O'Reilly (RCX 1.5 'paranioa') —Kevin Baker
Hi, One thing no-one seems to have connected... I find it hard to believe that this book could be published without TLG support (Reviewers & other readers please comment!).    (...) Maybe it's only me, but I think the main reason LEGO does not acknowledge adults as their costumers, frustrating us all with their too basic service packs and basic software, is that they have a very sloooow product cycle.
