  Frustration with NXT-G 1.1

It's been a LONG time since I've posted. I was thrilled when my wife presented me with an NXT for our anniversary, and have really enjoyed its capabilities. We migrated our MindStorms@Work group to use the NXT, and dug into NXT-G (since we already (...) (17 years ago, 13-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Point me in the right direction...

(...) Hi Nathan, You mentioned wanting to understand a computer's "inner workings," so you might check out the book "Inside the Machine": (URL) sure if this is exactly what you're looking for, but you can read a sample at the website. Thanks, David (...) (17 years ago, 13-May-08, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.cad, FTX)

Point me in the right direction...

Hey all, This is a wee bit off topic, so apologies in advance. I'm a long time lego fan but a relative computer novice. So I thought I'd turn to my fellow hobbyist in regards to their specialty. I'm really seeking a 'book of everything' something (...) (17 years ago, 12-May-08, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.cad, FTX)

  Brickworld MINDSTORMS Competition event-- Triathlon

After much delay (sorry) we've finalized the rules for the robot Triathlon event being held at Brickworld. The rules are quite long since it is essentially 3 contests in one, so I'm only going to highlight a few things here and ask you to download (...)   Re: Can one use LEGO Mindstorms on GNU/Linux operating systems?

Hi Paul, (...) It depends on the language/environment you want to use. The NXT-G software that comes with it, only runs on Windows and OSX. But there are alternatives like nxc/nbc ((URL) is a C like language and it runs on Linux and FreeBSD (which (...) (17 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Can one use LEGO Mindstorms on GNU/Linux operating systems?

(...) It depends on your hardware. Are you running your OS on IA32/x86 hardware? If so, then you can use the NXT with your OS using some of my utilities. See this NXTASY thread for details about running NBC and NeXTTool under Ubuntu with built-in (...) (17 years ago, 5-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Can one use LEGO Mindstorms on GNU/Linux operating systems?

(...) Hi Paul, I have been thinking about the same thing. It might be wrong, but I think it is not available now. Some have tried with a wine solution but ran into trouble with a dll. Here is a link: (URL) us posted if you figure something out. (...) (17 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Question about NXT Servomotors

(...) Hi Iain, I hope this questions means your getting the lego bug (again) and we will start to see more of your great creations. In short, I can safely answer.... I think so; but im not 100% sure. Ive FWD this to the .robotics group where I'm (...) (17 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto, lugnet.robotics)

  Daniele Benedettellli's book

"Creating Cool Mindstorms NXT Robots" by Daniele Benedettelli has come out with some delay. The author and editor's wise decision to take their time to do this book has purified the contents and enhanced its quality... which can be only described (...) (17 years ago, 3-May-08, to lugnet.robotics)
