Thanks everybody for the explanations! Everything start to make sense now. I understand that a resitor will limit only voltage across the circuit, but not current, this is very clear also. Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to use a electromagnetic device with the RCX and NXT. I tried with this one from a disk drive, and it worked quite well, but a few seconds after it start, the RCX shows the "low battery" icon. (The batteries are (...) (...) Rosco is correct. The standard NXT firmware uses a completely different execution model than the old RCX firmware uses. The NXT firmware does not provide any mechanism at all for starting and stopping threads. The only mechanism is to define (...) (18 years ago, 14-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The problem is that the standard firmware doesn't support starting and stopping of threads AFAIK. But you can start multiple threads by putting precedes thread1, thread2 in your main thread, when it exits both threads will start getting time (...) (18 years ago, 13-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics)

After a few hard resets, I came up with the following: Yes, the Get/SetDisplayNormal() permits you to write directly to screen memory. This (...) I've been poking around with my NXT, and as usual I've decided to bite off more than I can chew. In trying to discover a way to *unset* pixels on the display without wiping the whole thing, I've been sifting through some of the less-discussed macros (...) I have released a new beta (b21) of NBC with built-in support for the Not eXactly C (NXC) programming language. The sourcecode and the Win32 binary are already up on the NBC website.
