  Mindstorms software

Ok, another new user question (by the way, thanks for all that have answered my other questions): I bought a used Robotics Invention System 1.5 kit and since it was 1999 vintage and ran on Windows 98, I was wondering if it will run under Windows XP?   Re: Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

(...) Yes. So the bad news is a lot of standard GBC modules will break if they hit a Zamor sphere, so they really can't be used unconstrained in a GBC. the good news is there are a number of GBC modules that can process both easily, so if you build (...)   Re: Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

(...) Hey Mat, Dont know if anyone has answered you or not, Janey, did the initial test, and others have since confirmed that NO, the 2 balls are different in size. A soccer ball will fit with room to spare between 2 studs. and a "horta egg" (1) is (...) (19 years ago, 11-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXT compatible bluetooth adapters

(...) Correction, Tried again with the Billionton and managed to get it to work. The trick is not to use the software that came with the adapter but rather to use the native drivers in WinXP. So uninstall the application software. Insert the adapter (...) (19 years ago, 9-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Robolab

Keep in mind I am new at this. I ran accross a website today looking for information about Lego's Robolab. I have a few basic questions perhaps someone could answer. 1) Is Robolab a standalone program our must you have Labview installed too? 2) (...) (19 years ago, 8-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Great Ball Contraption at BrickFest '06

(...) Hey, Just wondering, are the Bionicle radioactive green balls pretty much the same size/weight as the soccer balls? I have just come across a HUGE (about 500) stockpile of these things and thought they would be good for testing. I live in aus (...) (19 years ago, 8-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Here's an addition to your list: Device MFG: D-LINK Device Model: DBT-122 Cost: $23.00 SGD Works fine on Win XP BTW, the DBT-120 has been phased out. Jordan said: (...) themselves: (...) is available at (URL) assuming that when they give an adapter the three-happy-minifig-head rating, that means they've tested it on BOTH OS X and Windows XP. Jeff Garbers (19 years ago, 8-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Follow That Line - BrickFest Style

Well folks, I made a simple (and somewhat silly) challenge the other day to Steve Hassenplug and Bryan Bonahoom while chatting about Line Following robots. The final outcome is another event at BrickFest this year. This event is not as formal as (...) (19 years ago, 8-Aug-06, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.robotics, FTX)

NXT Robot Swarm at BrickFest -- featuring Bluetooth

I'm interested in trying some experiments in (URL) swarm robotics>.   Another Bluetooth adapter that works

After plugging and unplugging the USB cable a million times, broke down this weekend and got a Bluetooth adapter. i could not find one on the list that had been confirmed to work.   Where to get parts?

I see there are several places to get parts (in US). Any recommendations on which companies (people)? The biggest confusion I have so far is shipping cost. Still learning, Tom (19 years ago, 5-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 9748 Droid Developers CD

With the kit? Bad joke, I know. You could try and explain to Lego that your cd has exploded into fragments and would like a replacement. If that doesn't work send me a mail off list and I'll see if I can help. Linmix (...) (19 years ago, 4-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Upgrading RCX to 2.0

(...) It's just software - otherwise they are essentially identical. Actually, the 1.0 hardware is the best because it has the external power socket - which was absent from the 1.5 and 2.0 RCX. The 2.0 set has a USB infrared tower - the older (...) (19 years ago, 3-Aug-06, to lugnet.robotics)
