Re: Problem with auto-steering mechanism. —Steve Hassenplug
(...) I find it hard to believe some 'iffy' condition would be required for a mass-producted childs toy. (so you hope) I have two suggestions. 1) Limit the rotation of the turntable to 180 degrees. (or 180 each direction) That should keep it from (...) (22 years ago, 25-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Problem with auto-steering mechanism. —Steve Baker
(...) Yeah - exactly. (...) Limiting the rotation like that would remove the very feature of this mechanism that I need - the ability to escape (eventually) from any kind of corner. (...) Maybe there some usefull links at the next page under the block "Mindstorms Internals" (URL) the IR components by a serial connection won't be (...) (22 years ago, 27-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Hardware mods to the RCX —Matt Lawrence
(...) Actually, I was hoping to leave the existing IR circutry in place and just switch it out when a cable is connected. That should give me backwards compatability. As far as the firmware, I expect to be writing my own code in Forth, so shifting (...) (22 years ago, 27-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics)
