Unfortunately not, you have to get the energy from somewhere. Of course you
could do it with an external supply...

What about a larger capacitor that could sustain multiple readings between
charges ?
Can be done, but charging time will be proportionnally longer. Could be
useful for burst reads.

Or a small rechargeable battery that was trickle charging when the sensor wasn't
being read ?

Mmmm... at that point an external battery pack would be much simpler and not
that big !

Philippe, Nice work. I ordered a few parts and am going to try it out. Now if I could figure out how to multiplex 4 sensors to a single input an be able to monitor them individually. The goal is crossing sensors on the front and rear to give true (...) (24 years ago, 23-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
