How long will a NiMH hold a charge if not used?  If they completly
dischard, will they be harmed by recharging?

I read in the new popular science that someone came out with a 1 hour
recharger for NiMH.

I've been using NiMH batteries in just about everything - and I've been
very happy with them.  Their only significant drawback (that I've found
so far) is that they take a lot longer to charge than NiCd's.  So I keep
plenty of spares and always have some in my charger.

(...) About a year ago we switched over to AA and AAA batteries from www.thomasdistributing.com, using the Maha MH-C204F fast charger. It also comes with a 12V car adapter. (...) That can happen - but the NiCd's are lower voltage (1.2 versus 1.5) - so no all battery operated devices are happy with them. Also, NiCd's have to be treated carefully and 'deep-discharged' or else they succumb to the 'memory effect' which (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
