I applaud 100%! Great work! I like to think that if the Lego designers can have new bits for new models, so can we!!!! I appear to have duplicated just about everthing you've been doing :) As far as the threaded rod business goes; I've been buying (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

I would like to try using threaded nylon rods. Where can you buy them? I've only used steel threaded rods to restrain large axial forces (e.g. in a crane turntable). I've also used smooth 3/16" bar stock when I needed a very stiff and strong axle (I (...) (24 years ago, 4-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

That sounds familiar. When I think up a new model, I invariably have that one critical piece that requires modification. Without the piece, the model just wouldn't work. I wouldn't dare touch my 40t gears either. It would be different if I had 100 (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Or for that matter, why not have the axle hole of the gear be the same shape and size as an 8t gear? This would be similar to how the center of the large turntable accepts a 24t gear. Use a bushing if you want it to spin independently of the axle, (...) (24 years ago, 16-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)
