Re: I wish Lego made an "Anti-Backlash Gear"

Interesting point about the rubber bands vs the resultant torque loss, it is true that the opposing forces on the gears along with the "rubber pull" will tender them to one direction or another in concert... However,...and I say this kindly and (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  NQC for Palm

I'm considering the ambitious undertaking of trying to port NQC to my Palm IIIx. I've gotten the RCXlib running, though the demo program seems to not be able to find my RCX 'alive'. I know GCC can be used to generate Palm apps, and NQC doesn't seem (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RE: Lubricating technic turntables

  Re: Lubricating technic turntables

Oil may work well on turntables, but don't use them for pneumatics. I oiled them with some kind of oil (I can't remember), and now they stick and stutter when you pull them. They seem to operate fine now, but not if they get much worse. I would not (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics)

I think that people think it is a pain in the a$$, as there has been a post on this before, but it has been this way for a long time, and people are used to having to delete senders.   Re: NQC for Palm

I would like to try using threaded nylon rods. Where can you buy them? I've only used steel threaded rods to restrain large axial forces (e.g. in a crane turntable).
