Re: Need Decision Help - Buy RIS 1.5 now or 2.0 later

I'm sorry to say that I don't have anny suggestions, just some more info to consider. I imagine that the difference between RIS1.5 and RIS2.0 will be the software. This was the major difference between RIS1.0 and RIS1.5; RIS1.5 was easier to use and (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Need Decision Help - Buy RIS 1.5 now or 2.0 later

I need to make a decision about purchasing Mindstorms kits for my sons school. We have decided to buy 5 or 6 RIS kits. The question is, should we buy 1.5 kits that I can get a hold of now or should we wait until fall to get the 2.0 kits? So far, I (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Solenoid Pnuematic Valve

(...) Was it these valves ? (URL) not, they seem intersting, but I have no information about cost, availibility, efficency with RCX. I just found that in a magazine. Marc Klein A Mindstorms fan. (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

A spherical roller is just a ball in a loose fiting socket like on the underside of a mechanical mouse. (Computer pointing device, not a robo-rodent !) Some people actually use the tops of roll on anti-perspirant bottles for casters on small (...) (24 years ago, 9-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: What is an RCX 2.0?

I have heard that RCX 2.0 has more memory in it than RCX 1.0 . Could you use tools like RcxCC to check the amount of memory in your RCX 2.0? Cheers, Hao-yang Wang (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) That's interesting. (...) Neither does the RCX 1.5 (...) Yes - I think so. We aren't aware of any hardware differences between 1.5 and 2.0 and the only difference between 1.0 and 1.5 is the external power socket. (...) Exactly...and you can (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  What is an RCX 2.0?

Hi folks, Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm a little stumped. I just received a RIS 1.5 set, and inside was a yellow brick labelled RCX 2.0. I'm reasonably familiar with the RCX 1.0, and I have a 1.0 with a power jack. This one has no (...) (24 years ago, 8-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics)
