The most I've ever built with a Microscout (other than a couple of the
R2D2 variants) was a six-legged alternating tripod walker
(http://www.users.kih.net/~micahx/rcxbug/microbug.jpg). Furthermore, a
standard 9V motor would function even better in that particular
implimentation than the Microscout does, as I have to continually
babysit the walker and push the RUN button every few seconds when the
program auto-terminates. The nature of the Microscout simply makes it
impractical for virtually any implimentation. The only good thing about
the DDK (and probably the DSDK in the future) is the fact that it has
been discounted to as low as $15, making it an excellent way to acquire
Technic elements at a low price.
