(...) I'm guessing that LEGO's 1.5 stock is about used up. YAY! The 2.0's should be out any time now. 2.0 is WORTH waiting for! Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  RCX & Motors

Hi, Here is a very stupid question. Can I attach two motors to the same input? I want to the control to be identical, but driven by two different motors so that I dont need to use any axles. Also, does anyone know of a source for small DC motors (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Ping Pong Ball Lobber

Hi Raoul, This has been a great experience for me. Perhaps I am not that creative, but I ran out of building steam for a while and these contest proposals have certainly solved that. I am looking into adding some voting system to the site, but with (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

We have a Climbing Winnner and New Contest Proposals

The Stair Climbing Contest as BrickBots.Com ended last night and 'Slowpoke' by Thatch was the winner! Congratulations on a elegant design that easily could have qualified for the pure RIS 1.0/1.5 bonus with a bit more building time. However, with a (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: GPS

(...) That for sure isn't easy. But there is a serial protocol called NMEA that's used by most GPS manufactures. So with (useful??) time and effort it SHOULD be possible. We used the NMEA protocol with a 6.270 board (little brother of handy board) (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Has the RIS 1.5 been discontinued??

(...) As Christmas just passed, I (strongly) suspect they were popular holiday gifts. In any case, last Thursday, I called all around the greater Boston area (even into New Hampshire) trying to find an RIS in stock, without much luck. Until, that (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Canadian price goof up...

(...) The price "mistake" is still there. Don't be fooled by the product listing page. If you add the product to your cart or even view the product details the lowered price is still valid. As for the "instant rebate" it is not available through (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: GPS

All this talk about using GPS is very interesting. And I am sure there is some oem board level product out there that can be adapted. But what I really want to know is; Ok, so you've found your 1 inch square GPS, so how do you get the navigational (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: proximity detection with laser?

Re: Has the RIS 1.5 been discontinued??

I asked one of my friend to bring IRS 1.5 for me from US when he comes back in end February, since they are not available in India. I had asked him to buy it on shop.lego.com. From your view I now doubt, if he gets 1.5 in time. What is the size of (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: GPS

Vihung, Now that selective availability is off I routinely get 12-18 feet accuracy from my GPS. And, yes, the more satellites you've acquired and the more spread between those satellites the better your accuracy. Also notice that your relative (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Has the RIS 1.5 been discontinued??

I can't find the RIS 1.5 (or 1.0) anywhere anymore! Actually they all seemed to disappear in December 2000. All the stores that used to have quite a few RIS sets no have just the DDKs and a few RDSs. Is LEGO getting ready to release RIS 2.0? If this (...) (25 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
