Usually, I feed the wire through the center of the large turntable. This will tolerate several rotations. Of course, you have to unwind it from time to time. Don't forget that the turntable has a very large hole in the center. You can run all kinds of things through this hole. That gives you a couple of alternatives: - You can run the wire for the motor through the large center hole of the turntable. (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Has anyone ever tried to make a set of electrical contacts that allow rotation? What I want to do is have an electric motor on my crane using the large turntable from 8480 but I don't want a flopy wire in the way of rotation. Any ideas or thoughts (...) While observing this thread slowly unwinding here, I would like to point out that the PC/RCX communications is bi-directional making such things as remote control extenders not really applicable. (...) Radio shack used to sell some which looked like little pyramids with a telescoping antenna; They were about 4" tall and 3" square at the base. The power supply was something like 9V, I don't know how many mA. (25 years ago, 3-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Even i have 3 motors that hardley move by hand I'm in india and i brought this kit and extra motors 1 1/2 years back ,, but i thought that as i just kept it like that and did not use it it got stuck . I never knew lego supplies bad motors ,, does (...) (25 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
