Usually, I feed the wire through the center of the large turntable. This
will tolerate several rotations. Of course, you have to unwind it from time
to time. An example is on my five axis machine at

Other solutions would be to drive through the hole in the large turntable
such as the rear of Mibo at

Has anyone ever tried to make a set of electrical contacts that allow rotation? What I want to do is have an electric motor on my crane using the large turntable from 8480 but I don't want a flopy wire in the way of rotation. Any ideas or thoughts (...) (24 years ago, 4-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
