Subject: Use for Bad Lego Motor

The new Mindstorms RIS 1.5 set I gave my son for Christmas had a bad motor
right out of the box. The motor is just jammed up and will barely turn by
hand. I emailed Lego and they are sending me a new one (in up to 3 • weeks!).

We couldn't wait to get started to I went to all the stores here looking • for
any set with a motor and finally settled on the RoboSports expansion kit.

When are now building the vehicles in the main kit using the motor from
Robosports.

Anyway, I know have this bad motor. I can easily remove the guts with the
jammed motor. This looks like a great starting point for some sort of • custom
sensor or actuator. Anyone have any ideas?

Talk to LEGO, they are very understanding about this. They swapped 3 dead motors out for me, and two of them were at least 18 months old. I couldn't even remember what sets they came in, let alone packaged. Regards, Dave. -- patel wrote in message (...) (23 years ago, 9-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
