 | | Error in grabber arm instructions?
|

I've got an RIS 1.5 set, and I'm building the grabber arm from the instructions on the Lego website. The instructions call for a total of 10 beams of length 6 (is there a standard terminology for these things?), and my set only has 8. I'm (...) (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

When the transmitter is running, the adjacent receiver's Automatic Gain Control cirucit (AGC) becomes saturated, and sets the receiver sensitivity to it's lowest possible (...) (...) Oops. Two mistakes there. (5 + 1 + 1)*4 = 28 not 24, which is moot because "messages" apparently have a prefix of hex F7 as part of the data payload, so a message is actually 9 bytes or about 36ms. Makes it sound like you're doing nothing (...) (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

If you build projects that are stationary, the 1.0 is the best bet. The cost of batteries makes the power connector very valuable. -- Bob Fay California, USA rfay@we.mediaone.net (URL) (25 years ago, 31-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
