  Re: vision command idea...

(...) For our purposes, this may not matter. However, couldn't the rear wheels be steered with a reciprocator? So as the steering wheel turns to the right, the rear wheels start turning right, then turn back to the left? So at, say 1/4 turn, the (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: vision command idea...

Another problem with all wheel steering is the problem of "switch over." Honda had a prototype of an all wheel steering car which used the mechanism of turning the wheels in opposite directions at slow speeds for improved turning radius and turning (...)   Re: vision command idea...

(...) Indeed - I've seen a good variation of this with a 4 axled vehicle which had two bogies with two axles each. Each pair of wheels on the side of each bogie had longitudinal pendulum type unsprung suspension, and the front bogie had an (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Touch Sensor Caracteristics?

(...) Yes. (...) That's not possible, as they are all slightly different, and it also varies a little over time. I measured it for my sensors with the RCX, depressing them slowly by a rack and measuring every 1/100mm (nominally, i think LEGO technic (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: batteries? RCX/CYBERMASTER

(...) ^^^^special swedish variant :-) (...) No idea, should be very little, try measuring it :-) (...) Don't know, but AFAIK motor current is limited to 500mA per motor, so three motors give 1.5A. (...) AFAIR (now that's really long ago I built (...) (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  RCXcc

Does anyone know if the RCX Command Center will be updated to have the latest NQC 2.2 running on it. Currenlty, it runs NQC 2.1r1. (25 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Books fo Mindstorms

Hi, in Germany you can get the new book "Extreme Mindstorms - An advanced guide to Lego Mindstorms" from Dave Baum, Michael Gasperi, Ralph Hempel and Luis Villa. It 's great!! If you are interested in some deeper hardware informations, RCX 2.0 (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: New member; a few questions ...

(...) I don't think that would be practical using the standard SPO-256 synth chip, but you might have some luck with the onboard speaker and tones. I had a computer game once that would say various versions of "ouch" through the PC-speaker. If you (...) (25 years ago, 16-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Vision command & macintosh

Hi, has anybody an idea to use the vision command with a macintosh? All newer Macintosh have usb for connecting the camera but there comes no driver for it from Lego. Ralf (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Touch Sensor Caracteristics?

It seems to me that the touch sensors have very different caracteristics. One has ~ 390 ohms and another ~ 480 when pressed to the bottom. Also, when pressed just gently, they seem to have a higher resistance. Is this correct? Is there anyone who (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
