  Re: OOhh new preson

Hi John, some answers to your questions... 1) I don't know of any lego clubs in London - I live west of London and am not aware of any in the area. (maybe we should start one!) 2) I found this web site (URL) excellent for learning VB for Mindstorms (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: vision command idea...

(...) Thanks for that explanation, everything is much clearer now. I suppose it is to do with the line perpendicular to the vehicle coinciding with the centre point of the turning circle; with all wheel equal steering, it will intersect the middle (...)   RE: vision command idea...

(...) If you are parallel and very close to an obstacle, like a curb or a wall, you can't get away from it with all-wheel steering. As soon as you turn the wheel to get the front away from the wall, the back of the vehicle will smash into it. This (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: vision command idea...

(...) ... A number of cars have done this in the past, though not many were brought to the US. Amusingly enough, a little-known option on the 240SX (I forget which years) is the HICAS (HIgh CApacity Steering) system which is a 4WS option. The rear (...)   Re: vision command idea...

(...) Heh! I've come to the conclusion that while it is interesting to tinker with suspensions, it is better to use the space in the models for other things. After all, the suspension one can make in a LEGO model is nowhere near realistic in it's (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

thanks jennifer, those threads help some, but i have put the whole idea behind me for the present and started working on the phased walking mechanism for the december challenge actually now that i saw more of the printout those writings helped lots (...)   Re: vision command idea...

You might want to look for information on "QuadraSteer". That's a Delphi Saginaw product (my company) that will be coming out on full size trucks in the near future. It adds rear wheel steering to the truck. The wheels are in phase (both turn the (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Help with my robot

(...) I thought in the same direction. For driving straight you don't need a light sensor (but for accurate turning) It must work with two touchsensors that were touched from an arm placed on the "detector-wheel". So you are able to detect to which (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

  OOhh new preson

Hello all, I'm new to mindstorms and I have a few of questions. 1.) anyone know of a lego club in London? 2.) Could someone point me at a good resource that clarifies how to use vb to program a robot. (I have written a tiddly little program that (...) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

VLL *input* for RCX/CyberMaster (in NQC) ?

Is there already any NQC code for *reading* VLL ? I've adapted the libvll.nqc to work *also* with direct connections (OUT port ->lego standard electrical wire-> IN port) using the Off() & Float() mainly for CyberMaster<->RCX comms [Note: By mistake, (...)   Re: Help with my robot

You can create two rotation sensors with two gears and the two touchsensors. (25 years ago, 12-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The RCX has 10 tasks. LegOS you have to build your own. I have noticed that the 2.0 Firmware is slower then the 1.0 firmware. Dean -- Coin-Op's For Sale!: (URL) Lego Workshop: (URL) Lego Club: (URL) (25 years ago, 14-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics)
