AI, AI & AC —Rama Hoetzlein
(...) this is (...) Why do all of these begin with the word Artificial? Don't you mean to say that our mind operates with "intelligence", "intuition" and "consciousness"? What exactly is the difference between Artificial Consciousness and "real" (...) (24 years ago, 16-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: AI, AI & AC —Steve Baker
(...) All very wonderful I'm sure - but isn't it just a *tad* off-topic? This has essentially nothing to do with either robotics or Lego. There is nowhere close to enough computing resources in anything people are likely to have in a Lego robot to (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: AI, AI & AC —Jon Kongsvold
(...) Not really, else I would have used one of the AI groups :) (...) Well, if you are trying to make a copy of some simple machinery, like your toaster with it's timer etc, it hasn't. But if you want to make your robots do more than just get stuck (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: AI, AI & AC (CM<->RCX) —Marco C.
(...) As Dean Husby said in a reply to your "Communication between the RCX and the Cybermaster" thread, and as it has been discussed by me and others already in older threads, it's pretty safe to connect directly the CM's OUT to a RCX IN, and doing (...)          Re: AI, AI & AC —Arturo Ronchi
(...) Com'on doesn't everybody want a robot that has more sense then only reverse/turn when it hits a wall ... (...) One of simplest forms of AI is to incorporate moods (AE) that can result in more human behavior. This can be done by using different (...) (24 years ago, 19-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

AI in games (was Re: AI, AI & AC) —Tony Hirst
apologies for continuing the off the lego-robotics theme, but i thought this may be generally of interest... there are some good papers relating to ai/intelligent agents in games from: (URL) includes the paper: Interactive Computer Games: (...) (24 years ago, 20-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: AI, AI & AC (OT) —Jon Kongsvold
(...) Yes, I think it is important to differentiate between these three "modes of thought". I think they are among the more important parts of our mind, and that it won't be a bad idea to copy nature into our programs and robots. The reason I think (...)         Re: AI, AI & AC (OT) —Andy Gombos
I think that everyone who thinks that to have intellegence you must have a computer communication system. Look at what Bert van Dam did, and only using the RCX. More complicated, independent robots could be built, but everyone sees the home computer (...) (24 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics)
