I grasped the cross-link concept... so are you saying that "if" there were
true subgroups that they would not post to the newsfeeds?  I'm still a little
confused...

Looking at the posts just now I see that there are no subgroups currently... I
thought they were an already existing sub-structure and that it would just be
a breakout like a
technic.rcx/technic.robotic.controls/technic.robotics.pnuematic...
where this sort of a structure held true:

LUGNET ==|
         |
         Robotics==|
         |         |
         |         RCX
         |         Controls
         |         Pneumatics
         |
         Other Categories

(My apologies ahead of time if the above diagram doesn't turn out right... it
is supposed to look like a structural tree, similar to doing an old DOS TREE
command... :) )

I guess I just visualized a different structure than was actually in place...
sorry for all the confusion everyone!

May I plead my ignorance to newsreader feeds?  Reading directly from LUGNET
when you select Technics you get all of the groups beneath it unless you • pick
a specific subgroup to further qualify your filter, so you get:
Arctic Action
Expert Builder
Slizer/ThrowBots
Tech Build
Competition/Cyber Slam
RoboRiders
Speed Slammers
Tech Play
CyberMaster@
Robotics@
Star Wars
Znap@

Actually, lugnet.technic doesn't have any subgroup newsgroups, even though
<http://www.lugnet.com/technic/> has subcategories on the website.  The
categories listed above are for future DB expansion and other things, but
won't likely be separate newsgroups for a very long time.

(note that Robotics is a subgroup of Technics as well as Technics being a
subgroup of Robotics)

No, it's not, actually.  The @ symbol denotes a cross-reference link (just
like Yahoo! does) to a different place in the website hierarchy.
