Re: How Many Mindstorms Have Been Sold? Or What's the Highest RCX Product Serial Number?

(...) If it's of any help, I have may have the lowest number: 000560 (a version 1.0). It will download firmware from Mindstorms, Robolab, LeJos (and I suppose others though I don't have them so I can't test that) BUT it gives an error message on the (...)   Re: How Many Mindstorms Have Been Sold? Or What's the Highest RCX Product Serial Number?

Guess I only have the second highest: #756734, bought via LEGO Shop At Home in mid-December 2003, as part of the RIS Kit (2.0 plus a few bags of extra parts, a remote, a capacitor for some reason, etc.) Love the product, would love it more if it (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  BricxCC release 3.3.7.7

I've released version 3.3.7.7 of BricxCC today. It adds a Spybot EEPROM tool window. It adds a new configurable watch tool window. It adds a new generic set source value tool window. It adds a hot key (F2) for the pbForth console. The position of (...)   brickOS & Cygwin with BricxCC

Yesterday, I replaced the two installers I have up on my bricxcc.sourceforge.net site with slightly modified versions. The new installers contain a new cross compiler which I built from 2.95.2 myself (rather than the one Hitachi provided some time (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Balancing robots

(...) When trying to balance, there are really just two questions to ask. 1) Is the current angle/tilt/distance-to-floor changing? 2) Are the wheels turning? If you answer no to both, you are balanced. It really doesn't matter what the (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Balancing robots

(...) I don't think there's a good source for this data (motor back-emf) using an RCX. Yes, Legway just used the motor commands to simulate the wheel velocity. It would have greatly increased the complexity of the wheel assembly to add rotation (...) (22 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Has anybody successfully added an RCX to 7471 Mars Rover?

Ever since I picked up the 7471 Mars Rover a few months ago, I thought it screamed out for an RCX modification. I saw a lot of discussion about the possibility, but didn't find where anybody had actually successfully done it. Now that BrickFest PDX (...)
