  Re: Spybot studies: photoelectric eye

(...) I think this is fantastic, Brian. I look forward to seeing future posts on the results of your studies. I am working with Dave Baum to incorporate the new Spybot API features into the official NQC API. One aspect of that involves documentation (...)   Spybot studies: photoelectric eye

I've started a new project to explore the Spybot's capabilities, (now the John Hansen has given me access to them ;). I plan to undertake s series of "studies" which each explore a single feature or function. I'll post then as I go. This first one (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.spybotics)

  Re: Mindstorms 3.0 Wish List

External power Flash memory (no more losing the firmware and programming when power is removed or batteries die) An extensible 2-wire sensor bus allowing up to about 16 sensors attached to just one port on the RCX (freeing up 2 port locations) A (...)   Re: More Speed? Re: Mindstorms 3.0 Wish List

(...) Ah hah! And the reason I don't want to waste time and effort making my memory map (excuse the pun) any harder to code than it has to be is because I am busy building special sensors and other gizmos to solve the short range navigation and (...)   9747 (RIS 1.5) comes with 2.0 RCX brick?!?

Hello, I opened a new 9747 (RIS 1.5) today and was slightly surprised to find a 2.0 RCX brick inside. Has anyone any clue how this can be? Kind regards, Wessel ...who wished they'd accidentaly put the USB tower in instead of the serial but alas. (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Simplifying Cygwin & brickOS/leJOS

(...) Dear Scott, Unfortunately it is still true that Interactive C does not support the USB-tower, but I am pretty sure this will be changed with the further releases (I recently bought a serial-tower at Shop.Lego for 16.99 Euro only!). But it (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

I'm just passing the following on for everyone else to read. scott Hi Scott, I don't have posting privs to all these lugnet lists, but just want to let you know that actually IC does support encoders (rotation sensors). It's just not (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos, lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

Re: RIS 2.0 USB Tower on a Mac

(...) As long as you are using OS X you'll be fine. NQC includes its own driver code for working with the USB tower under OS X. For Mac OS 9.x you'll need to install a driver from Lego. You'll also need to download firmware to the RCX. MacNQC can (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: More Speed? Re: Mindstorms 3.0 Wish List

(...) Two words... "sparse array" The cpu in the RCX is plenty fast enough to handle the proccessing overhead incurred in accessing such an array. To work out how much space in such an array your house would require, add the perimeters measured in (...) (22 years ago, 6-Nov-03, to lugnet.robotics)
