When i try to download the zip file, everything seems to work, but when i launch the EXE inside i get an error message "Corrupt Cabinet file" The download address is: (URL) in advance. (...)   Re: Help! Hanyboard Assembly Testing problem!---I think solved!

There was a very undetcible component-side solder bridge between pins 2 and 3 of RP4. I might not know until tomorrow when I can get a replacement for RP4 (apparently I'm not very good at desoldering, and I didn't see the bridge at all until I (...)   Re: threads

Thanks Albert (...) still (...) How do I check this? There are no other tasks that can kill threads apart from this one. I also checked process IDs after creation and before killing. Best regards, mike (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: I'm sure this has been done to death

Best source is other Mindstorms Sets - preferrably heavily discounted. Older RIS sets have gone in chain stores for as low as $69. Expansion sets are available through a range of places online as closeouts at varying discounts. CompUSA and BestBuy (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Help! Hanyboard Assembly Testing problem!

Hi, Thanks for your reply. RP4 has the part # 88102G, and adjacent pairs of pins have resistance of 1k (ie, 4 discrete resistors). Ok, Tell me if this sounds really strange... R15 is installed, but tested at about 1k ohms, not 47k. I remove the (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Ahh. yes the AT-AT and R2D2. I forgot those. For some reason I was thinking the UCS TIE fighter and X-Wing. My brain was asleep. (...) Yeah the Camera really needs the CDROM and therefore Windows. :( But the Exploration Mars (which was one of (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) The AT-AT was OK (apart from the 'microscout' heap of junk). (...) What upset me about those was that a large fraction of the benefit of them was in the CD-ROM - which being a Linux user, I have no use for. (...) Yes - that was one *sweet* (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Except for the Mana's ;^) They're good with the RIS. (...) Which Star wars sets are good? Maybe I'm short on sleep but none of them come to mind. (...) Maybe not the best deal, but some of the expansion packs are pretty good. Actually if you (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: newbie again part 2

(...) You could try David Baum's (creator of NQC) simulator, found here: (URL) is 'very alpha', meaning that it's in its early stages of development and uses Java, so be ready to ask more questions :) Good luck and hope you get your RCX soon!
