  Re: 0x8000 and main()

Fred, Dan, and Chuck, Thanks to an email from Chuck McManis (thanks, Chuck), I now have a better understanding of what's going on with respect to the main() function and memory location 0x8000. Chuck asked me if the main() function is executed after (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Home-made Air Muscle is Here!

(...) Wow! That seems like interesting stuff - I found a second link for it here: (URL) I can't find anyplace that sells it in the USA. (Both of those links are to UK). Maybe it's called something different here? Does anyone know? I have a dozen (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Driving R/C servos and interrupt latencies

Hi, I finally succeeded in driving up to 7 R/C servos from the RCX using a shift register and a re-triggerable monostable (for synchronization) all driven from the FTOA output line (senor B, AC coupled into a transistor) . This involved switching (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  BricxCC release 3.3.3.2

I've just uploaded another release of BricxCC. Version 3.3.3.2 fixes a few bugs in the toolbar button/menu item enabling/disabling dependant on whether the connection to the programmable brick is active or not. It implements auto saving of the (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Home-made Air Muscle is Here!

(...) Yes, the stuff is pretty tough. And now you know how to make your own Lego parts. You can even create *designer* parts that TLC never thought of :-) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Linear muscles

(...) Yeah, that $900 is for a 25-pack -- the lowest volume they apparently deal with for on-line orders -- so that's $36 US each. Not too bad. Also note, though, that the stronger model only contracts with a force of 70g (~2.5oz) -- not very strong (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I saw some 'starter-pack' thing for $180 that includes 2 muscles and some othere stuff. Still expensive, but so is the RCX. It's on the 'Buy Online' link. - Gary (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RIS 2.0 starts automatically when I boot PC

(...) There's probably a better way to do this, but what I did was rename LaunchRis2.exe to LaunchRis.exe and fixed the link in the Start menu to point to the new name. Kind of a hack, but it works. - Gary (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: 0x8000 and main()

Fred and Dan, For some reason, I'm apparently having trouble explaining my findings, doing something wrong -- or not understanding what Fred is telling me.   RIS 2.0 starts automatically when I boot PC

Howdy I just upgraded to RIS 2.0 on a Windows 2000 machine (used to have RIS 1.0 on a 486!). Upon booting up the machine, the RIS 2.0 software automatically comes up. I wish to disable this. It's not in the startup group in my Start Menu. I did find (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-02, to lugnet.robotics)
