Re: Newbie questions about RIS 2.0

(...) I don't know the answer to this - but if your son is 'into' programming and computers, you could consider just dumping the Lego software and using NQC. With the Lego environment, you get to "program" by dragging cute little icons around - and (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: RIS2 Upgrade on W95 & Pentium(I)

Just a little more info (hope it is worth somthing)... I use RIS 2.0 with my RIS 1.5 serial tower. I am however running Win98. But my point is that RIS 2.0 does not require the USB tower. Jona ----- Original Message ----- From: "Trevyn Watson" (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Newbie questions about RIS 2.0

My son has been saving for an RIS for about 7 months and we decided to put him over the top for Xmas. After I got the thing home, I noticed that the min req said Pentium II/233 Mhz or better. I have only a 1997/8 vintage Dell with 200 MHz Pentium (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Need Advice on Getting Started

(...) Well, the Robotics Discovery Set (RDS) is way better than the StarWars themed sets because the Scout is actually a useful part - and you get two motors and some sensors that you can re-use later. The microscout is (IMHO) a pile of junk. It has (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Home-made Air Muscle is Here!

But how do you build it? It seems like a plastic net surronding a bag of some type, and then plastic pieces to connect it to Technic beams. Now, what makes the plastic boxes, what is the bag made of, etc? Perhaps I should e-mail Christophe? Andy (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Need Advice on Getting Started

I'd like some advice on what set would be a good one to start with. As I am not sure how much I'll get into this, I'd like to avoid th $150 to $200 for the RIS 1.5 or 2.0 systems. I've seen the Droid Development Kit, 9748 I think, at some stores for (...) (24 years ago, 24-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Remote servo motor controller for RCX

Re: Remote servo motor controller for RCX
