  Re: Chemical Sensors

You can interface pH and other sensors with Mindstorms using logIT, look at (URL) ColePalmer (mentioned below) it is not clear to me what they offer in terms of Mindstorms compatible sensors? - Thomas Hoeg-Jensen (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Chemical Sensors

Does anyone know of sources for chemical sensors. Things that can report ph, oxidation, etc? Robb, or bid at (URL) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

I have done a few proximity sensors using the light sensor and the RCX's messaging. Examples are here: (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Proximity sensors.

Hi all. I want play with my RCX this Christmas so I have thought about building a proximity sensor. So guys, do you have any ideas?. I prefer simple and cheap solutions. Bye. (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Serial Port (IR Tower) communication procedures with LegOs

If you mean standard firmware message, I think you should use my remote control patch for legOS025, you can find them at (URL) luck! Zhengrong (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Serial Port (IR Tower) communication procedures with LegOs

Hi, We need to send and receive messages between a PC and a RCX with legOs, but we can't find the serial communication procedures in the code or libraries. Does anybody can help us???   Re: Shuting up the RCX

It is easier to use legOS to instead NQC, and it is more power, very easy to be used. Zhengrong (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Battery use

Yes, but it won't last long. The HB's electronics draw around 20 - 40 mA. the lifetime of an alkaline 9v is approx 1 Amp hour. So that give you 25 - 50 hours of run time. In practice, you'd get less, 'cause the 1 AH rating assumes a much slower (...) (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Battery use

If I use a separate battery supply for the motor outputs, will a single 9v battery provide sufficient power for the rest of the Handyboard instead of the 8 AA cells (9.6V)? (24 years ago, 19-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Home-made One-way valve

Alternativeley you can continue using the valve with the old style pump and have an air tank (if you own two) on each side i.e. one that holds the vaccum and one that holds the pressureized air. but... theres still the problem of flipping the valve (...)   Re: Home-made One-way valve

(...) Yes, you can store vacuum. But all you can store is 1 atmosphere. So a little blue tank with 4 atmospheres has a lot more storage than one with negative 1 atmosphere! Also, it's real hard to make vacuum, in the real world. I once built a (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Shuting up the RCX

(...) Right, that's an option but perhaps not the ideal for me since I'm working with NQC. Any other? Thanks anyway Jürgen. (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: Home-made One-way valve

(...) Also, the external pressure is usually fairly fixed (atmospheric pressure) and there's a lower limit to the internal pressure (absolute vacuum), but no intrinsic upper limit (though it is limited by the strength of the tank). Therefore a (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: Home-made One-way valve

Instead of pushing a pneumatic switch back and forth, you can use the old non-return valve: (URL) the pump to the middle hole, connect the air tank to the left hole and leave the right hole free. The old style pump will pull air out of the tank and (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic, lugnet.build)
