Do you have to choose a transistor that will switch somewhere near and below 9 volts? Cause Fred mentioned that the handyboard is rated for 9V motors. But, does this mean that the pulse generator make 9V square waves? (...) (29 years ago, 4-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I think the question on how to run higher current motors has got to be the most asked question here. Maybe we should add more info to the FAQ or something. Hi Brian, When Fred and I designed the Rev 2.0 6.270 controller, we consciously made the expansion bus small and simple. How do I send out 40khz IR on the handyboard IR port so that I can use a Sharp IR detector for proximity sensing? I would need a signal that wasn't modulated at 100 or 125 hz, right?
