  IR

Hi All. Is there a way to set the IR transmitter to something like 'long range mode'? I would like to have a more powerful beam for proximity detection. I've tried lnp_logical_range(1), doesn't seem to make a difference. The problem is that I don't (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Using Vector 2X and Polaroid sonar w/ exp board

Hi, I am planning to use a Vector 2X compass with the Polaroid Sonar and expansion board but not sure about the SPI connection part. Before investing into the compass, I would appreciated if somebody could tell me if they are successful in using (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  [OT] Unabashed plug

This is an anabashed plug for Solutions Cubed ... I'm in NO way affiliated with them ... and I'm NOT a volume purchaser. I have one of their MemKey keypad encoder boards. It failed. I called them and was told to send it to them ... no return (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Ironically, they originally did spell out "The New England LEGO Users' Group" under Henry's picture. It seems that when they added "NELUG" to my captions, they also acronym-ized his caption. (They're almost _too_ responsive!) My theory as to (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

  Re: Scout secrets revealed

Sorry Eric -- the frames just take up too way much space in the window (over 50 percent!). Most of the time when I visit such a heavily framed site, I have to use the "Open frame in New Window" command just to read the content. I posted the URL to (...)   Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Actually, a more likely reason is that we are looking at the LEGO Mindstorms web site. No RCX --> no "Mindstorms" --> no picture. We really should collaborate on how to mechanize one of those AT-AT's! (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

Re: Categorizing uploaded robot images on legomindstorms.com

Letting them search both ways might be too much work for the Russell and/or the folks putting this system together. A heirarchical taxonomy is all right as long as it allows for each "node" to have more than one child and more than one parent. (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Some friends and I have been discussing that on and off, to the level of watching the movie to make sketches of leg motion. We have sort of assumed that you'd have to pack the storage in the center with 2 or 3 RCX's. You'd also have to lose (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)
