| I've just got the IntelliMouse Explorer. I had problems at first on my Simpson's mouse mat, but then I tried it straight onto the desk top. It's very good and I have no problems with it at speed. | Not bad for an international connection. I'd rate it as "tolerable." I've scanned 3 pages, but the images are crooked on two. | (...) Hi Paul, I think it would take out the chip, but I am currently doing this by installing a oversize heatsink & fan to the controller chip and pulsing the motor instead of constant current. | It won't necessarily fry the chip. L293s (and the TI equivalent) have a thermal protection mode. If the chip gets too hot, it will turn itself off.
