Re: Dr Dobbs Journal planning segment on RCX programming

(...) A co-worker just lent me his new copy of Dr. Dobbs Journal (November 1999) which contains the article by Markus Noga called Designing the LegOS Multitasking Operating System. Haven't had the time to read it yet, but I thought I'd mention that (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Dr Dobbs Journal planning segment on RCX programming

Anyone have any idea when that'll be online? I'm not real familiar with DDJ's online policies, though I know they have an extensive online collection. -Luis (...) ###...### Profanity is the one language that all programmers understand. -Anonymous (...)   Re: Dr Dobbs Journal planning segment on RCX programming

(...) It doesn't seem to be up there yet, although I didn't have much patience with their web site. (It's (URL) in case you want to try for yourself.) I tried to search for "Lego" and it told me it didn't know what to do with the "L". I'll tell you (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robot lab

Yes I would recommend it for young children. So far the youngest ROBOLAB programmer on record is 4 years old (or maybe 3). There are many things in the new ROBOLAB 2.0 (out soon) such as scientific data graphing and analysis [see the pictures in the (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

RE: Wot no RCX power connector?

(...) You could get a battery adaptor, that is, a device for putting AAA batteries where AA batteries should go. They're available easily here in the UK - Maplins for example. The only irritation I see is that you'll need 6 of them; 5 of which will (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Serializing tasks

Hi, I'm writing a Visual C++ program to control simultaneously 2 RCX (using Spirit.ocx). I'd need to know when a task is ended to start the download of a new task (I'd need a kind of TaskDone event). Is there a way to do this? Does anybody have (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

RE: Wot no RCX power connector?

(...) Ah, that explains those people talking about easily wiping the memory by pulling the AC adapter out - the old RCX lost everything immediately, right? The new one claims to (and seems to, but I haven't timed it) retain its memory for up to a (...) (26 years ago, 21-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)
