Rieview of set 4767, Harry and the Hungarian Horntail

This is a review of the new Harry Potter set, Harry and the Hungarian Horntail [LEGOSet 4767] In this review I use the term "ash" for new light gray, "blay" for new dark gray, "clay orange" for dark orange and "dusty blue" for 'sand' blue. The first (...) (19 years ago, 23-Oct-05, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.harrypotter, lugnet.year.2005, FTX)

Review of set 8652 Enzo Ferrari

[LEGOSet 8652] I'm certainly not the type to be writing set reviews but I felt there was some stuff about the set that needed to be clarified. First of all, I was prepared for a pretty sucky set when I read the comments about it in the guide, (...) (19 years ago, 30-Jun-05, to lugnet.reviews, FTX)

  Quickie of #4770 Blizzar Blaster

Found this at my local consignment shop for $10 off the MSRP. Great set for a color purist since there's very little blay present. A great selection of light and dark blue, including the first 1xN beams I've seen in dark blue, hooray! I'm glad this (...) (19 years ago, 23-Jun-05, to lugnet.reviews)

Review of Technic 8421 xxl Mabile crane

As a certified crane/aerial device inspector and heavy equipment technician I love Lego technic construction machinery especially the cranes. When I saw the previews of 8421 I was excited but assumed I would have to wait ontil S@H got it in august. (...) (19 years ago, 19-Jun-05, to lugnet.reviews)

Review of 7075 Captain Redbeard's Pirate Ship

I am a fan of large sailing vessels, and I have several around the house, and a large appetite for shipbuilding supplies... BUT: [LEGOSet 7075] $A50, 132Pcs – Am I crazy? That’s nearly 38c a piece! Well, perhaps I am crazy, but then I am a fan of (...) (19 years ago, 16-May-05, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.reviews, FTX)

Quick Review of #4746 Alpha Team Mobile Command Center

Picked this up for $10 off the retail price. There are only four stickers that can easily be set aside (as I always do). Not much positive to say so I'll try to keep it brief and hopefully informative. 1. The way they print the colors in the (...) (20 years ago, 17-Mar-05, to lugnet.reviews)

  Re: 7235 Police Motorcycle

(...) I too am pleased with this set. While I do not own it I just got the latest S@H catalog and I like the feel of these new sets. They appear (IMHO) less Juniorized than the sets in the "World City" theme. I do think the re-using of the large (...) (20 years ago, 31-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews, FTX)

  Re: 7235 Police Motorcycle

(...) Thank you Eric for this review and for the parts scan! I find very nice the double language for the stickers (I love the white/green "Polizei" cars from Germany!). Don't you think that this motorbike is a little bit in a greater scale than the (...) (20 years ago, 29-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.town)

  7235 Police Motorcycle

Well I got a S@H gift certificate hand had a little left at the end of placing my order so I added 7235 Police Motorcycle to the order (which set a record in that it arrived less than 24 hours after placing it on the 27th. Those that know me know I (...) (20 years ago, 28-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.town) !

Racer 8644 considered cool (and $3+)

Yellow sporty racer 8644 is the coolest Lego set lately. Sure it has a lot of new-fangled pieces. But how the grill meets up with the wheel covers without attaching, that is sweet. The new thin tires with no Lego precedent: it is about time we had (...) (20 years ago, 22-Dec-04, to lugnet.reviews)

  Re: Knight's co-pack $30 TRU special

(...) SNIP I got the same set, & though i wish the wall pieces were like the classic castle wall pieces, i'd say it's a decent set with good playability. when i built it i remembered this set: (URL) 6062 Battering Ram> & realized that this could be (...)   Knight's co-pack $30 TRU special

TRU has a $30 co-pack of Knight's Castle Wall and Vladek's Siege Engine ($20 ea. at S@H). I got that "Ooh, new Lego set" feeling and bought one. Some thoughts on the castle wall... Did Lego think modular castle wall? Close but no banana. Have to try (...) (20 years ago, 30-Oct-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.reviews, lugnet.castle)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) Ah, THAT nose cone. Shows I usually collect space sets, doesn't it :-) Well, if you look at the changes they did with the plates, this changes is logical. It is the same useage that they improved (you can now attach it onto a larger plate, (...) (20 years ago, 25-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 7075 JacStone Pirate Ship

(...) Just noticed, that there are two versions of set 7075; I bought a second set, labeled "limited edition" (same price), which included motor AND battery; when mounted, this acts as counter-weight and makes the ship float reasonably. Arne, (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.year.2004)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) By nose cone I meant this piece: (URL) I don't see why TLG would need to replace it since it a fairly new piece. (1994). I looked at the zoomed in picture on S@H and I couldn't see the holes for the studs. But I was relieved when I see they (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) Yeah, that's the one. At first I didn't notice it, but the openings are very visible in the nose of the plane. The pictures on the box do show the new elements (like this piece and the sloped windows), but the instructions show the old (...) (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

Re: Set 10159 - City Airport

(...) (URL) Is this the piece they replaced? If so, so be it a least they're easily replaced by old ones. If it's the Nose Cone ugghh unsightly! (20 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)

  Set 10159 - City Airport

Disclaimer: this is my first review, so I'm not familiar with what a review _should_ look like. Anyways, here it goes: Set 10159 - City Airport is a re-release of set 6597. This means it is from a time when you could actually build a city with (...) (20 years ago, 23-Oct-04, to lugnet.reviews)
