Re: Taking of Images - Question

(...) (Directing this to lugnet.general, too) Omigosh! This is... ugg. Direct copies. I don't know about you, but I would be ANGRY! Also, pretty sloppy work. For example, Austin's Basilisk is now basilisk.jpg.jpg. I think Kevin should do (...) (23 years ago, 15-May-02, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.general)

Re: How to get link pages made

I believe FTX is an issue in some cases, yes. I'd just like to add a quick note here. Yesterday, as I began to mention here: (URL) I make a call for specific curators (in aprox 3 weeks), I plan to have some support docs available for the potentially (...)   Re: How to get link pages made

(...) links: (...) Hmm, interesting thought. In the web interface, "< set:6285 BSB>" (without the space between the "<" and "set" will show up as a link to (URL) with the label BSB (see <set:6285 BSB>). How about making the FTX syntaxed HTTP link (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.publish, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: How to get link pages made

(...) Perhaps, but here is all of the FTX you need to know to create a page of links: <> That's it. To make a list of links you only need this: (URL) First Link Description> (URL) Second Link Description> (URL) Third Link Description> (URL) Fourth (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

Re: How to get link pages made

(...) Well, because it would be a very simple gateway to the kinds of skills that would make HTML pretty easy too. FTX is butt-simple. (...) I can only assume that anyone who allows the learning of FTX to get in their way of curatorship, simply (...) (23 years ago, 8-May-02, to lugnet.publish)

Re: Help Please Links! -----> .Mecha

(...) Yes, it's much more work that people might imagine. I have an enormous workload, which unfortunately leaves link updates lower priority than many other tasks. For me, even taking the time to automate recurring tasks, or to assign a task (...) (23 years ago, 7-May-02, to lugnet.admin.curators, lugnet.publish, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Help Please Links! -----> .Mecha

(...) As someone who has tried to keep up a comprehensive links page, I agree that it's way too much work. Most of what I did was done during a period of time where my work responsibilities only filled about 20% of my time. A partial problem also is (...)   Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) But good resale because everyone likes white. :-) I think 20 different fonts may be a bit much. I think one font in just one size may be too boring. I tend to use one or 2 at most and get variety by using bold, italic, etc. and varying (...) (23 years ago, 28-Apr-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) Just thought I'd point out here that while there are benefits to getting a Lugnet membership, this isn't one of them. There's no limit to how much any non-member can post either. Providing for those things you said of course. Ben Roller (23 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) This topic has already been addressed in lugnet, and I've come up with this conclusion. If someone replies with a thanks to a reply, but they don't reply with thanks to my reply, I'd be a little hurt. While I'm sure they did not mean to offend (...)   Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) Well, no one else seems to want to correct you here, so here goes. Just because your website is non-profit does not mean it is "exempt from any sort of copyright law." So using that song is legally a violation of copyright law. Does that mean (...) (23 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.publish)

  Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) I am not a lawyer either, but I immediately cringed at the music credit (as well as the excessive use of different fonts mentioned by Hafner). I mean. don't get me wrong -- I don't personally care if you use the music or not. But absent (...) (23 years ago, 27-Apr-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: Introducing the Introduction!

(...) Um, no! That's not how copyright works. The fact that you're not making money off it doesn't make you exempt from anything. The only exemptions from copyright are "fair use", which covers quoting excerpts from a larger work for purposes of (...) (23 years ago, 26-Apr-02, to lugnet.publish)

  RE: New Website, New MOC

(...) There is a $65/yr, 150 Mb, 6 GB plan available...pretty close to the original. Reminds me I need to upgrade...but as long as they don't notice I'm using over 50 Mb, I won't complain. --Bram Bram Lambrecht bram@cwru.edu www.bldesign.org (23 years ago, 26-Apr-02, to lugnet.publish)

  Re: New Website, New MOC

(...) I don't remember the name of the plan, but it was $60 annual for 150 Mb of space and 7Gb bandwidth per month. -- Tony Hafner www.hafhead.com (23 years ago, 26-Apr-02, to lugnet.publish)
