I'll second that too!  My camera[1] takes great close-up pictures with the
macro, but only if there's *copious* amounts of natural light.  In fact, I've
only been satisfied 100% with its quality on outdoor shots or indoor shots
where a really really really bright hot light was used.

Of course, the camera is using 2-year-old technology (no, not technology for
2-year-old's! ;-) so I'll bet there have been some nice advancements in CCD
technology since then.

I gotta chuckle on that one -- thinking back to the old days of flash bulbs
(ya, I'm on old fogie! :-), the phrase "compact flash" meant something
entirely different than "flash" does in today's digital world.  :-)  :-)  :-)
