A few part mods for the brave: I decided that buying 32x32 baseplates and cutting them in two was cheaper than buying twice as many 16x32 baseplates. The question is how to make a reliable straight cut. I've used 4x8 plates for rigidity and slider (...) A few keen-eyed Brickshelf followers might have noticed my latest parts mod, cutting up the 1x4 black and yellow striped tiles in order to make the chevron patterns for loco ends. My first track mod was the now fairly common point with a 2-curve side-branch. I'd always wanted to do the opposite - to move the track over with just curves. I've been able to find only one functional difference (improvement) you can clearly see here : (URL) That square limit how deep, Technic bushes for instance, can be "studded"; preventing it also to be "angled".
