John  We did try to get an initial count from people but only Ed Responded

I realized that.  I was guilty of not responding, so I figured starting a
new one was a good way to go.  It helped to heal my guilt :)

Kevin Mentioned at the meeting that he had a ton of plates. Based from
what I posted and Ed and John we have a yucky mixture. I think the first
thing we need to do is decide and standardize areas and where we have
to switch make it look good by using buildings or whatever to seperate
the change.

Yucky indeed! Too bad that this area (roads) of LEGO isn't fully compatable.

I missed the fact that I have 2 drive way plates, from the hospital set.  1
in use in KFC.

In other news, since it looks like we will most likely go grey, I'll start
putting floors in my buildings, so that they aren't attached to the
baseplates any longer.

In the building survey, most everything in this folder is available:

Well, I guess we all have been on the same wavelength lately.  I have spent
time the last few days washing my baseplates and I have just provided my
baseplate and track inventory in the message just before this one.  This
should
help with the planning.

I've been working up some TD layouts, trying to leave ample room, and having
mediocre results.  Trains aren't my strong suit.  I think the best way is to
have a meeting and try stuff in the ABS and have a copy of TD there to
transcribe to.

Now we need a venue and a deadline to work with to keep our motivation levels
high.  How does a practice layout sound ??  Worth the effort??

I've been thinking, has anyone (besides Wayne) talked to local toy
shops/major retailers about doing a display at a shop?  TRU comes to mind as
being very receptive to AFOLs in the past, via sculpture.
If everyone could pick one shop in their area, I'm sure we could cover a
lot of ground.

Possible meeting dates??:
Saturday May 11
Saturday May 18
Saturday May 25

(...) I've been kinda tied up too. Just finished working my way through 50 service packs of wires - that's 100 ends! And that's a lot of machined bricks and hand assembled circuit boards. It got busy! But it's quietened down a bit now I hope, so I (...) (22 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.org.us.lucny)

(...) Guilt is good :) (...) After examining Kevin's Baseplate stash I think Grey is the way to go we can easily mix Old Grey and New Grey. If diplays that are built on Green don't worry about it for now we will work that out later.. Build with (...) (22 years ago, 25-Apr-02, to lugnet.org.us.lucny)

I wish life here in the North Country could be as quiet as the newsgroup has been the past few weeks. First an earthquake on Saturday, centered 15 miles south of here, now an extremely busy weekend filled of rock climbing and singing. Life should (...)
