Eric & All,
I saw this thread and thought I would give some collective hints on these
subjects, since MichLUG / MichLTC have been through a lot of different shwos
as of late. : ) I will try to go to one of your shows if I can.

Yes, indeed. You can either do one of two things with GATS, either go into
the layout competition (And get space right away) or ask for an appearance
fee (Which involves waiting until the last minute). Track designer helps out
a good deal in this regard. We usually start coordinating our shows right
after the completed one (Such as our GR GATS show)

We found that we do use colored dots (Better to pick a color and have that
person stick with it, and have a list of the different colors) and also to
have an inventory sheet as well. We have an Excel sheet for quantities of
plates, track, etc. We also label vehicles, train cars, etc., especially if
it is TLC stuff.
Anyway, if you guys need any help, please let me know, even if I am about
the same distance between IndyLUG and MichLUG! : )

| (...) GATS is sending me an application and a list of shows. We basically tell them how much space we need, and they leave that much space open for us. They have shows in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne, which wouldn't be too bad to go to, I don't (...) (22 years ago, 29-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)
