This is my last post regarding this subject because the horse is more than
dead, and if the concept cannot be comprehended, my continued blatherings are
certainly not going to clarify.

Who would like to organize such an event?

SAFER? Please explain? How is a Member event less safe than Public?
And again... who wants to organize a Public event?

Anyone on the 'net has already sacrificed security and privacy the day they
signed on (I'm not about to give a lesson in how to track people based on IP
numbers etc. as that is beyond this scope). If this is truly a concern, they
can voice it. Example, Silas never gave his last name -- so what... that
didn't prevent his membership from being processed.
Mark, you seem to be contending we don't want to have Public events. This is
not the case as has been explained so many times. How would you like to
organize the VLC's first Public event as you are so enthusiastic by the
concept?

I was saying that a public event where everyone isn't playing with LEGO would be safer (from the standpoint that nobody's private property would be likely to go missing) would be safer than if the events as they currently (...)
