The booth is 40 feet of table space across the front, not including the space
reserved for the train layout.

Ah, o.k. I see the issue.
So the question becomes... do you guys _want_ to bring those type of bots; that
require that kind of space? Or is bringing them and a train layout too much to
worry about?
If you do want this kind of space, let me know and I'll talk to the show about
getting it.

This becomes the follow-up question to the one above. If the competition bots
are too much work/space, would it just be easier to have some simple bots that
demo some of the Mindstorms functions in a very basic way?

Hey wait a minute... wasn't this your idea? ;) I was just agreeing with you.

Then what if it's one person per project? They don't have to be immense works
of multi-thousands of bricks. Just having someone building *something* would be
more interesting than not having anything.

Something Toronto related would probably go over very well. But I had also
thought about just having a large official set or two on hand to build. I know
that's not quite the thrust of the booth, but it is a way that people might
think, "hey, I could get back into building with LEGO too". I had thought about
having a Yoda and/or an AT-AT on hand to build... but only if time and space
permit. Does that seem reasonable? Or would it be more interesting to have
someone working on an original design?
I know that the model car guys often sit and work on kits right out of the
box... but then we're more creative than that aren't we? :)
Thanks again,
Allan

| (...) Sure. It also depends on the size of the booth. The robot playfield is large, so it takes good amount of space (12x12" minimum-it's a 8x8" playfield and you need to give people space around it to move). DaveK has a 4x4 playfield, but you're (...)
