Actually, let's clarify this before it gets out of hand. I got a request
from Dan Boger, not people in the community, to not post dinner
announcements into lugnet.announce or events. And that's fine by me. It
was not particularily nasty at all, it was quite fine and appropriate. Now,

No, it's not really. Dan's just trying to clean up the .announce newsgroup.
That makes sense because there's a lot of crap in there to begin with.

While it would be nice to announce stuff to get more people, I don't
honestly care whether or not the Lugnet community is receptive of our
announcements, we've simply been asked by Dan not to. Anyways, Toronto
events don't really concern some guy in Wisconsin* anyways.
