I think Ka-On has a point-there's going to be a lot of robots spread over

kid screaming, "it's done!" too early

Yeah it would reduce the possibility of argument of who was done first.  Also
it matches what a real robot would behave in a factory, which a robot need to
signal other devices so that the finished product would pass to the next
process stage.

Yeah, it's true, rotating the pattern to fit your algorithm is a trick.  I
think Ka-On wants us to say, this is always cell 1, this is always cell 16.
As a result, the operator can't rotate the pattern to match his/her code's
optimization.

Yeah.  Again in a factory we will not have a hand optimized raw pattern handed
to the robot.

For example a robot scan the blocks column by column, so the owner may want to
rotate
1001
0110
0110
0110 (pattern A)
into
0001
1110
1110
0001 (pattern A1)

If the next game use pattern A1, then the robot would face the same challenge
again instead of a new challenge.

(...) OK, I understand now. This is a valid point. And it is easy enuff to correct for. I'm sure all the bot's will have some designated cell 1. With that said, who among us would stoop to the point of doing something so..... un lego like??? :) (...) (23 years ago, 3-Dec-01, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
