Are you trying to "connect" from the software on the PC? (and that's
where it says it can't connect?)

Yes, the software cant find, upload the contents of the phone, or download to
the phone.  Basically, no communication between both devices at all. Smile.

What devices do you see listed under your device manager?

Yes

Ok, this "advice" should be considered much like any other advice you
receive over the internet...  If you break it, that's your own darn
fault...  :)

I downloaded a ton of crap that has allowed me to hack my razr.

After playing around with them again today, I have one
suggestion.  (sorry if you already did this)  Can you make sure your
software is set on the same com port as your phone?  I'm not sure
where the setting is in the software, but in the device manager,
under modem, double-click the Motorola USB Modem.  There should be a
"modem" tab, and it will show something like: Port: com10.  Make sure
your software is set the same.

If that doesn't fix everything, here's some software you can download...

Those are a couple different versions of P2KTools.  I don't really
know the difference.  (the first one has worked for me)

You want to keep your phone in "AT" mode, not "P2K" mode.  In P2K
mode, you can do bad things to your phone.

If this doesn't help, make note of what com port your phone (modem)
is set on. (from the device manager)

(...) snip (...) Thanks for this help Steve. I will check all this out and cross my fingers as well. This weekend I did get a micro SD card, so worse case senerio, I will just use my card reader. Janey "Red Brick" (18 years ago, 14-May-07, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
