these are JUST ideas.

1. in "real" tug of war, letting go of the rope is a forfeit, do we
allow even temporary releasing the rope?

There is SLIGHT advantage of releasing the rope in the hope that the
opponent zooms off the edge with no one to hold him back.

Don't see why not.  This could be a risky move, but could also be a
good strategy to break the grip or traction fo the opponent bot.

2.  Do we want to allow bots to grasp/hook the end of the table to
anchor?

Again, don't see why not, so long as it meets the start size/weight
and location.

Could we make this game JUST about design, and wheel choice or loops
holes?

thoughts?

As always, I like to approach these contest as problem solving
exercises.  A unique/radical/clever design, imo is worth exploring.
Otherwise we might as well just post instruction sets of a standard
chassis and force everyone to build the same thing.

p.s. is there a rule set posted yet?

Calum has this link, but its not "public" until we all agree on a rule
set and date.
