Have you looked into a water powered backup sump pump?

A friend put one in 'cause his power has poor reliability (in the
country) but he is on municipal water and has the pressure there.

| (...) Thanks Rob, By nature I'm a cheap SOB. I know all about the "real" sump pump backup systems. For a few hundred you can get a (car) battery operated back up. I have also seen the water pressure back up ones. The trade off is with the location (...) (19 years ago, 9-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

| So, I "acquired" this UPS. its VERY heavy. I was told it might need a new battery. When I plugged it in, the self test feature told me the battery was not happy. After a day of just keeping it plugged in, (not on) I went back to it, and it was all (...) (19 years ago, 8-Jan-06, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
