  Who is building a ministacker?

Hey folks, Out of curiosity, who is working on a ministacker? Despite a looming thesis, I actually started playing with ideas last night. Calum (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

I'm working on (just) one. 8x8x8 -- such a cute size :) (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Showoff :) (grumbles the guy with only one RCX...) (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) If you promise to build more, I will lend you as many RCXes as you want. (Well, up to 3) That offer stands for everyone here. God only knows I don't do anything with them, except for douse them with milk. Calum (20 years ago, 11-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) I am. I spent a chunk of time over the holidays working on my block eating mechanism. The rest of the robot is coming along. 8x8x8 is kind of small, but not unrealistic, even for a dual RCX robot. Dave: What is the maximum gap in the joint (...)   Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) What?!?!?! I thought I threw out that napkin with my ingenious sketches monday night... how did you get it Rob? And Calum, all the ideas that I mentioned should have had a big COPYRIGHT on it ;) I'm working on a mini-stacker BTW John (who (...) (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) Hey Rob, We're going with the 8x8 field, not the 4x4. I dunno how smooth the joint is on the 8x8--I think the center part is good 'casue it's got the piano hinge under it, but out to the edges, where there's no hinge, there's a bit of a lip. (...)   Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) I got confused by that. too. The rules say pained corners, and using Dave's playfield, plain plywood, 8x8. I thought Daves was 4x4, and painted grey. Thought RTl's was 8x8 painted grey... what is it? -Rob A. (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Who is building a ministacker?

(...) rtlToronto's old was painted grey. It was stolen by thieves. The new one is unpainted, but will have two corners painted, 18x18" square, within a few weeks. Calum (20 years ago, 12-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
