Ralph,
There was a video clip circulating the sub-ether a while back showing how to
fold shirts quicker and 'neater'. I may still ahve it on my hard drive
somewhere, but I've been using the method shown and I find it to be quicker and
neater for me :)
To describe, lemme try...
lay out a t shirt on a flat surface, front side up.
with your right hand, reach across to the left side of the shirt, approximately
halfway down and about 2-3 inches from the left edge.
Pinch the material with your thumb and forefinger.
With your left hand, reach up to the top of the shirt, grab the top of the shirt
between the collar and the sleeve on the left side.
Not moving your right hand at all right now...
Pull the top of the shirt down to the bottom of the shirt, essentially engulfing
your right hand.
Grab the bottom of the shirt with your left hand as well, about 2-3 inches from
the left side.
Between your forefinger and your thumb on your left hand should be pinchedboth
the top of the shirt and the bottom of the shirt, and your right hand should be
pinching the shirt somewhere in between.
Now pick the shirt up, pulling your right hand to the right.
YOu have now got a horizontally folded shirt, with the sleeves hanging towards
the floor with the bottom of the shirt facing you.
When you go to place the shirt back down on the flat surface, push the shirt
away from you as you lower it so the hanging sleeve catches on the surface.
About where the 'fold should be', bring the shirt towards you again while laying
it down flat.
Now you should just see the front of the shirt, all folded up nice-like
K, that was as clear as mud :)
The video is sooo much better. Or come to the next dinner and we'll bring
shirts to fold :)

| A quick google produced this gem: (URL) Nothing to do with actual shirts, but a neat trick nonetheless... Even better, up one level is Money Origami: (URL) This is more like it. 1.9 MB Quicktime, but cool! (URL) I LOVE the Internet! Ralph (20 years ago, 15-Jun-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
