(...) here's a great idea. show them a two wheeled robot that just stands there. talk about exciting. "What does it do Mr. Magno?" "It stands there." "oh... ... ... ...hey, Mr... ..." (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Apparently that'll get you on TechTV... :) But seriously, I might have to agree with Steve here. Sumo or something REALLY obvious. How about get them to build a small I dunno, wheeled robot. Let it drive a long and stop when it touches a black (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Actually, I'll chime in on Steve's side here - Sumo is not what rtlToronto is about, but having kids smash robots together is, usually, a hit. One option is have a standard chassis with easily switchable gearing (different gear ratios), (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I didn't actually intend to be mean about it: I do think it's cool. I don't know why Chris finds it so funny, so much so that he called me up at work to say it was funny? :) Calum (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) I was going to be unconstructive and suggest you bring a mixed box of lego and get the kids to sort it. Worst case, you end up with the same mess, best case you get your lego sorted. But seriously, it depends so much on how old these kids are (...) (21 years ago, 25-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) First, this isn't much time. Second - How old are the kids? You will have your hands full AND need help. I've been doing this for 4th and 5th graders, BUT over a minimum of 8 one hour sessions with 12 kids max. I actually do a progression of (...) (21 years ago, 25-Feb-04, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
