I will just make Prog#1 look for white and Prog#2 look for black, hence save one
sensor from looking at the square colour.

Not really. What is stopping me from just aim a battery bot to run stright
toward the correct rope?

| (...) Absolutely nothing, but it is one step more removed from a straight battery box solution. Placing the end of the rope above the 'bot height is the first step, then making your 'bot pick the rope with the same colour as the starting square. If (...)
